Recognising our past airport expertise, Armfield were selected by JD Wetherspoon to construct two airside units at the groundbreaking Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow airport. The work required strict logistical planning at a site which prior to its official opening had up to 2,000 contract personnel present at any one time.
The project involved intense security vetting and training together with detailed liaison with the remote logistic centre to secure the access of both men and materials for the completion of this £800,000 project. On completion, both units were then mothballed in readiness for the final launch of the Terminal.
